The UHMW-PE UD / Aramid UD fabric production line is an intelligent continuous manufacturing system specifically designed for uniform composite fabrication of UHMW-PE fibers with resin matrix. This line efficiently performs processes including fiber unwinding, resin impregnation, PE film lamination, drying and curing, as well as 0°/90° orthogonal layering, producing high-quality unidirectional (UD) prepregs (such as 2UD, 4UD, etc.) that serve as base materials for subsequent hot-press molding, ballistic plates, lightweight structural components, and other applications.

Main Process Flow

Fiber unwinding and spreading system: high-precision tension control combined with mechanical/pneumatic fiber spreading devices ensures smooth and uniform laying of UHMW-PE or aramid fibers, preventing wrinkles and overlaps.2
Impregnation Coating System: Utilizes an impregnation tank or precision roller coating technology to evenly penetrate water-based resin into the fiber bundles.3
Film Lamination and Bonding Unit: Accurately apply a PE protective film after impregnation, and achieve strong bonding between fiber, resin, and film using hot rollers or hot pressing equipment.4
Drying, curing, and cooling system: drying system combined with water-cooled rollers, precisely controlling temperature and pressure to prevent UHMW-PE degradation at high temperatures while ensuring rapid shaping of the prepreg.5
Winding and Post-Processing: Automatic alignment, edge trimming, and winding equipment enable continuous and efficient production. Core advantages of the equipment
Optimized for the low surface energy and high viscosity characteristics of UHMW-PE, equipped with surface treatment and ultra-high-pressure fiber spreading devices to enhance interfacial bonding strength.
Compatible with UHMW-PE UD and aramid UD production: After upgrading and optimization, the same production line can quickly switch to manufacturing aramid UD prepreg, meeting diverse requirements for protection levels.
Intelligent control: Integrated PLC and touch screen system enables real-time monitoring and automatic adjustment of parameters such as temperature, pressure, tension, and speed, improving product consistency and production efficiency (speed up to 5–11 m/min).
Modular design: Compact footprint, supports multi-layer orthogonal combinations such as 2UD and 4UD, with product widths ranging from 1200 to 2500 mm available.
