Aramid Prepreg Technology
2026-03-01
Aramid prepreg (aramid prepreg/prepreg fabric) is a composite material intermediate made by impregnating aramid fibers (commonly para Kevlar, meta Nomex) as reinforcement, impregnating thermosetting (epoxy, phenolic) or thermoplastic resins, coating, hot pressing, and semi curing. It is an incompletely cured "semi-finished product" that is subsequently heated and pressure cured to form.
⚙
Preparation ProcessThe mainstream method is hot melt (resin film transfer, solvent-free, environmentally friendly, high precision); There is also a solution immersion method (suitable for high viscosity systems). Process: Fiber unwinding → resin coating/impregnation → hot pressing infiltration → cooling and shaping → laminating/release paper composite → slitting and coiling.

🏷
Core Classification and Performance - 1Fiber type: Para aramid (high impact resistance, high specific strength, bulletproof/aviation); Meta aramid (high temperature resistant, flame retardant, insulating, electrical/fireproof)
- 2Form: Unidirectional prepreg, fabric prepreg (plain/diagonal)
- 3Key performance: Lightweight and high strength, impact resistance, temperature resistance and flame retardancy, electrical insulation; Shortboard refers to the low interlayer shear strength and the need for protection in humid and hot environments.
