Waterproof fabric is a new type of textile fabric made by using waterproof fabric laminating machine to laminate polymer waterproof and breathable materials (such as PTFE film) with fabric, which has waterproof, breathable, windproof and thermal insulation functions. Its principle is based on the physical difference between water vapor and liquid water: using a microporous structure to remove water vapor, adjusting the surface tension of fibers to make liquid water droplets fall, and optimizing performance with water repellent treatment technology (such as contact angle control), suitable for wet environment equipment such as submachine jackets. The mainstream types include GORE-TEX (lightweight and breathable), Dry Tec (lightweight and sporty), and microfiber insulation cotton (strong moisture resistance).
